French-based company Foily is launching Peacoq’ (http://=https://peacoq.fr/) for Spring 2021. It says the 14ft sailing dinghy – with foils – has a new hull and comes fully equipped with Harken (https://www.harken.co.uk/).
This is to be the high-end version of the Peacoq 14 which is used by sailing schools.
The Peacoq’ double-handed dinghy is pitched between the classic dinghy and the cruising monohull, says Foily. Its hull is highly stable and powerful thanks to a scow bow, and the self-levelling J foils flying on water get rid of drag. All appendages can be fully lifted so that nothing comes out from the hull which means it can also sail like a classic dinghy (without flying).
The inspiration behind the design came from the 2013 America’s Cup when Patrick Billot (entrepreneur behind Foily) decided to join the foiling revolution.
