Dufour 530: full sail!

We continue to survey the steep boats! The next step is Dufour 530. The new boat combines the ideas of previous generations of boats and gives absolutely new sensations!

Dufour Yachts seems to have changed their strategy. Previously, the company supported two lines: Performance and Grand Large. However, with the introduction of the Dufour 530, the decision was made to combine Performance and Grand Large in a completely new case. The result is more than just a beautiful boat. It turned out to be one of the best!

Dufour boat versions

In fact, there are three different boat versions available. Each of them has slight differences in rigging, keel and deck functionality. It all depends on your choice of model!

Easy is ideal for those looking for ease of use. The model assumes the most simple sail control system: German mainsail harness and automatic jib.



The Ocean version has a classic sail control scheme, which makes sailing more enjoyable.

The Performance version is specially configured for offshore racing, with a taller mast (including an optional set of spreaders) and an even more thoughtful deck layout for maximum speed and handling. Moreover, this model has an elongated keel.

And below deck?

Below deck, the Dufour 530 resembles previous Dufour models. But, by the way, there is an opportunity to adjust individual parts for yourself.



The boat can be equipped with up to six cabins (plus the skipper's cabin). The master cabin is, as usual, located in the bow. There are two cabins aft. In addition, the salon is equipped with a beautiful view. The saloon itself includes an L-shaped seating area to starboard and a U-shaped dining area to port side.

What will the Dufour 530 show on the go?

The Dufour 530 is available with 75 hp Yanmar or Volvo Penta diesel engines. and a saildrive or 110 hp. and straight shaft.



At maximum speed (3000 rpm) the boat can move at 8.2 knots in calm water. Overall, cruising speed in all conditions can be 6.8 knots at 2400 rpm in almost any weather.

The boat, by the way, responds quickly to the steering wheel and is responsive to control. The yacht has a bow thruster - a boatraster. The same paddle wheel can be placed in the stern.

Outcome

Since the 530 replaces the popular Dufour 520, it must be something special. Other manufacturers would try to fit new technology and powerful sails into one hull. However, all too often the resulting boats are burdened with additional expensive equipment. At the same time, remaining gentle and fickle. This is not the case for the Dufour 530.

At speed, this boat felt completely unreal! Riding through the waves like a Cadillac on the Autobahn.
